We founded the Önálló Léptekért Alapítvány (Independent Steps Foundation) as an affected family ourselves.

We know exactly how much strength, perseverance, uncertainty, and hope this journey takes. We know what it is like when every small step forward in a child's development has to be fought for, day after day.

We work to give real help to children living with cerebral palsy (CP) and their families.

On this page, we are now raising funds for Zéti's surgery and rehabilitation.

Zéti's story

Meet Zéti

Zéti is a smiling little boy full of love, who suffered severe oxygen deprivation at birth.

He has been through many hardships since then, yet he has come an enormous way. Today he can roll over, crawl, ride a bike, and even take steps with assistance.

"The biggest goal still lies ahead of us: that one day he can set off on his own."

Why is the surgery needed?

The Nazarov surgery in Barcelona is a specialized procedure on the connective tissue that helps increase Zéti's range of motion, reduce muscle tightness, and support the development of healthier movement patterns.

• Easier movement — Moving becomes easier for him, and tightness is reduced.
• Better posture — His posture improves, and more favorable patterns can develop.
• Lower risk of contractures — The chance of restricted movements becoming permanently fixed is reduced.
• Room to grow — He gains a new opportunity to develop and move toward independence.

In some areas, Zéti's development is steady; in others, it has stalled due to motor delays. At this stage of life, time matters enormously. A procedure performed at the right time, followed by rehabilitation, can make a real difference in the direction his development takes.
